We believe in giving you complete universal access to your settings, and information, as well as your own pc, anytime, and from anywhere! Before we delve into the ins and outs of how this revolutionary service can enhance your life, lets run through a few scenarios to help you understand how this service can transform your digital world.
Let's take Email, sense it's one of the more popular uses of the Internet. When you send out email, that email can be saved in a "Sent Items" folder. If you want to later resend an email message, you could go back to this folder. Many email applications utilize this strategy. However, the SA Mobile Network takes this one big step further. Imagine that you are at home, you send an important email to a friend containing directions to a favorite restaurant. After leaving your home, you call your friend to see if your driving directions reached him. You find that your directions did not reach him. With your U3 smart drive, you can just plug into any PC running the Windows platform, and access your "sent Items" folder, and resend your email! This access is available on a U3 smart drive, on a PassKey, from home, or anywhere that you have access to the Internet! Let's show you another example.
You are working at the office. It's five minutes from 5:00PM. You find a file that you need at your home. You don't have enough disk space on your U3 smart drive. So, when you download the file, you specify that your home PC download the file instead. When you arrive at home later, your file is waiting for you! This process will also work with audio files!
The above examples are just some ideas to help you get started. For example, when you access various parts of your SA Mobile Desktop away from home, you will hear phrases like, "At Home", or, "My Home". These phrases let you know that you are accessing content that is located on your home PC.
So, how can I start using this one of a kind service?
The short answer is, just access it from the preferences page. Simply activate the Manage My HomeServer option, and you will be on your way to all the rewards that true unified access provides! When you activate the above link, you'll be guided through a quick setup designed to help you start this service for the first time. Don't worry though, the service is quite painless, and takes about a minute to finish.
Setting It Up!
Tip, when you start the setup guide, you will be asked questions. Please read/listen to the information that is presented to you. It will ask you for very specific information that you must provide to configure the HomeServer. For example, the first page of information indicates that it will need you to provide your logon information, (Account number, and Pin) to identify you, and to log you on to the HomeServer service itself. So, after reading this page carefully to be sure you understand what you will need, activate the Next link. Hey! what a nice surprise! Please don't let this page befuddle you. You're thinking that this looks like the usual logon page, right? Well, it is, for all intents, and purposes. You see, the SA Mobile Network is smart enough to remember your logon information that you use when you connect to the Network in the first place. Now, the SA Mobile Network is asking if you want to use the same information to logon to this service. If you opted to have the SA Mobile Network automatically remember your Account Number, and Pin when you logged in for the first time, then all you need to do here is activate the "Log In" button. When you do, assuming that your log in information was correct, you should get the following message.
"Your HomeServer is now set up and running."
That message means that you have successfully setup the HomeServer service on your PC. If, for some reason you wish to stop the HomeServer on your PC, or remove the HomeServer, you may do that by activating the appropriate link. Important, if you stop, and or remove the HomeServer service from your PC, you will not be able to utilize the scenarios outlined above. In edition, other such similar scenarios involving the HomeServer service will not work. In short, if you stop, or remove the HomeServer service, don't be surprised if the SA Mobile Network behaves in an unexpected manor. Note, that when you restart, or re- engage the HomeServer, you will not need to verify your log in information a second time.
The HomeServer service is for the most part an intangible service that runs in the background. Sometimes this type of service is referred to as, "Set, and forget". As you saw earlier, once you set the service up, you can forget about it, because the HomeServer service automatically takes care of all of your settings, and data. As a result, there aren't real specific concrete instructions to give for this feature. Some experience with this innovative service should help you fill in any gaps that may still exist for you.
