What do bookmarks have to do with the internet? plenty. As you know good old bookmarks that have been used for centuries to mark the place in a book or magazine also have a digital twin. Of course with regular bookmarks you could slip in a marker to indicate that this page was particularly interesting or useful. Well the digital bookmarks work the same way. When you find a page you like you can tell the System Access Mobile Network to save it in a friendly name in a special list.
With billions of websites and more coming online daily you will undoubtedly find ones you want to revisit. Bookmarks, sometimes referred to as Favorites save the addresses of sites so you can return to them quickly without having to retype the addresses. Bookmarks store the location address and uses the page's title in your list of bookmarks as an identifier. That way, you only need to remember the title of the page or find it in your bookmark list to navigate back to that same page.
It may help to think of web sites as books and web pages as individual pages within a book. Similarly when you hear the term home page, you can think of the book cover that gets everyone’s attention and catches their eye.
So when you find a web page that you want to save for later retrieval just press alt+shift+B. You may change the title that is used in your list of bookmarks if you wish. When you are done just press the OK button. Later when you want to go back to those pages just press alt+B and you will be placed within the SA Mobile Network bookmarks. At this point you can:
- Brows bookmarks
- Browse public bookmarks
- Manage bookmarks
- Make bookmarks public
- Make bookmarks private
- Import bookmarks from another browser
- Export Bookmarks to another browser
Browse Public Bookmarks
This feature lets you browse bookmarks that have been made publicly available through the SA Mobile Network. Anyone on the SA Mobile Network can share their bookmarks with everyone else on the SA Mobile Network! Just find the person's name whose bookmarks you wish to browse and tap enter or say it! Anything that they have published will be available to you as links.
Manage Bookmarks
Here you can organize bookmarks into folders for categorization purposes. This can be particularly useful if you have many bookmarks in your list.
Make Bookmarks Public
This option lets you make any or all of your bookmarks publicly available to all SA Mobile Network members. You publish bookmarks on an individual basis. Just check the bookmarks that you want to publish, then enter a personal message if you want one to appear, and activate the submit button to save your changes. If you have categories of bookmarks, then you can open them and check the bookmarks you wish to publish. Make sure that you enable "List these public bookmarks in their own folder." check box to preserve your category structure, enter a message if you want one, then activate the submit button. Remember everyone on the network will have access to your public bookmarks, so make certain you don’t activate any bookmark you wouldn’t want your mother to see.
So to recap:
Select the “Make Bookmarks Public” option and browse through your bookmarks. Check the bookmarks you would like everyone to be able to access.
Check the "List these public bookmarks in their own folder." checkbox to reflect your personalized category of bookmarks.
Enter a personal message if desired.
Submit your bookmarks.
Remember that you can personalize each category that you publish with a message of your creation! This message could welcome someone to your bookmarks, request that people email you with the names of faulty bookmarks, and so on. The great thing about this is that when you include your email address that email address is automatically converted into a link. So visitors can send you an email about your bookmarks without jumping through a lot of hoops just to contact you.
Make Bookmarks Private
If you no longer wish to share some or all of your bookmarks with other SA Mobile Network users you can make them private again. As before just check the bookmarks that you want to be privatized, then activate the submit button
Import Bookmarks from Another Browser
If you have bookmarks that you have gathered using Internet Explorer, you can import them into your account on the SA Mobile Network!
